T- NR12/S marine turbocharger diffuser is one part of T- MAN / T- NR series turbochargers and which were designed comparatively simply with a cast radial turbine, which is suitable for heavy fuel oil engines, marine diesel oil engines, biofuel and gas operation enginess. Products are available for a wide engine power range, from 450 kW to 5400kW per turbocharger and without compromise in reliability and performance.
T- NR series turbocharger is widely used in ship building, locomotive, land power station and petroleum drilling industries, extensively applicable to in-land and coastal transportation and fishing due to its high efficiency, small size, light weight, favorable maintainability and serviceability, adequate supply of spare parts.

The turbine is driven by the engine exhaust gas, which enters via the gas inlet casing. The gas expands through a nozzle ring where the pressure energy of the gas is converted to kinetic energy. This high velocity gas is directed onto the turbine blades where it drives the turbine wheel, and thus the compressor at high speeds (10 -15000 rpm). The exhaust gas then passes through the outlet casing to the exhaust uptakes.
The diffuser is mounted in the compressor side of the turbocharger in order to direct the air smoothly into volute casing and Convert kinetic energy to pressure energy inlet air.
The marine turbocharger, also known as exhaust gas turbocharger, is the main equipment in the diesel engine boosting system. It consists of a single-stage exhaust gas turbine and a centrifugal compressor. They are mounted on the same shaft to form the moving part of the marine turbocharger/exhaust gas turbocharger - the rotor. The function of the marine turbocharger/exhaust gas turbocharger is to use the diesel exhaust energy to drive the turbine to drive the compressor on the coaxial to increase the air pressure into the cylinder, so that the diesel engine power is greatly improved. The exhaust turbocharger approximately doubles the power of the diesel engine, but its weight is only increased 10%.
When the diesel-exhaust turbocharger combination is in operation, the marine turbocharger/exhaust gas turbocharger is prone to failures such as turbine casing corrosion, bearing damage, blade damage, gas seal damage, and supercharger vibration. The daily good maintenance management can reduce these failures.
